Samsung Sets Release Date for Android 15-Based One UI 7 Update

Samsung is rolling out its latest Android update, One UI 7, starting with the Galaxy S25 series and some older premium models. The update aims to provide a smoother user experience, new features, and visual changes. Key highlights of the One UI 7 include:

* Separation of notifications from quick settings
* New lock screen features like the Now Bar and more widget support
* Smoother animations for improved app switching and multitasking

However, not all Samsung Galaxy phones will receive the update simultaneously. The rollout is staggered based on phone model and release date, with newer models getting the update sooner. Premium segment phones, such as the Galaxy S24 series and foldable phones like the Z Fold 3, are among the first to receive the update.

In contrast, mid-range and budget-friendly Samsung handsets will also get the One UI 7 update but at a later date. The list of eligible devices includes various Galaxy A and M series models from 2022 and beyond.

The One UI 7 update is expected to be rolled out by the end of the first quarter of 2025, with some devices getting an additional patch in the next few months through One UI 7.1. This rollout marks Samsung’s commitment to providing its users with regular software updates for their Android-based devices.
