Samsung Electronics has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to demonstrate the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in radio access networks (RAN). The collaboration, showcased at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, highlights the potential of AI-powered network automation.
The partnership focuses on Samsung’s CognitiV Network Operations Suite Copilot, an evolved AI assistant that simplifies and optimizes RAN management using AWS Bedrock, a managed service for building and scaling generative AI applications.
CognitiV NOS Copilot streamlines network management by presenting data clearly and translating raw data into actionable insights. It also offers deployment options across various platforms and enhances network analysis and troubleshooting.
Kee Ho Ham, managing director of AWS Korea, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating that it enables operators to harness AI to build smarter networks while reducing complexity and operational costs.
Samsung aims to further integrate AI/ML capabilities into its radio intelligent controller applications, providing a comprehensive suite of capabilities. The partnership marks an important step in bringing the power of cloud computing to next-generation network management.
