Samsung is reportedly making significant changes to its flagship smartphone lineup, starting next year. The company plans to discontinue the ‘Plus’ model and introduce a new Edge series as an alternative. According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26 Edge will boast a slimmed-down design, measuring just 5.5mm thick.
While this reduced thickness won’t come at the expense of battery power, the phone’s capacity is expected to increase to 4,200mAh. This jump in battery life is comparable to that found in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and significantly better than last year’s model. However, it remains unclear whether Samsung will utilize new battery material technology.
Furthermore, rumors suggest Samsung may replace its standard Galaxy S26 with a “Galaxy S26 Pro.” The purpose of this device and how it differs from the Edge series remain uncertain. With multiple leaks emerging in recent months, the company is likely to reveal more details soon.
