Samsung to Launch Tri-Fold Smartphone by 2025

Samsung is reportedly set to launch a tri-fold smartphone in the second half of 2025, following Huawei’s Mate XT. The device will be available in limited quantities, with less than 300,000 units expected to be produced. The production complexity and high demand may pose challenges for Samsung.

The phone’s screen size will differ from Huawei’s due to a new folding mechanism. When fully folded, the screen won’t be exposed on one side, aiming to improve durability. Unlike Huawei’s device, this smartphone’s screen will measure 10.5 inches when unfolded on the left and 12.4 inches when unfolded to the right. It will also not feature an under-display camera.

Samsung’s tri-fold smartphone is expected to arrive at a high price, with some speculating it may surpass even the Mate XT’s £3999 launch price. The exact production capacity and pricing details remain unclear, but Samsung plans to address these challenges if the device proves successful.
