Samsung is preparing for the release of four new Galaxy Z series foldable smartphones, including a tri-fold model. The phones, scheduled for launch in 2025, are expected to target lower sales numbers than previous models. Due to underwhelming sales of the existing Z Flip and Z Fold series, production will be reduced.
Industry insider Jukanlosreve has revealed that Samsung is only going to manufacture 200,000 units of the tri-folding Galaxy phone. Given its anticipated price tag over $2,000, this production goal seems reasonable. In comparison, Apple’s Vision Pro, priced at $3,499, sold around 400,000 units.
The size of the new tri-foldable is reported to be larger than 9.5 inches when fully unfolded and will feature a fold-in design similar to Samsung’s CES showcase. However, conflicting reports have surfaced regarding the release date. Initially, it was speculated that the phone would launch in 2026; however, recent reports suggest a third-quarter 2025 release window. Production is set to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with possible announcement at Galaxy Unpacked on January 22.
