Samsung has showcased its latest innovations in OLED technology at Mobile World Congress 2025. The company’s display division announced plans to promote OLEDs across a wide range of screen sizes, highlighting the benefits of this technology.
The main focus was on its 500 Hz QD-OLED monitor, which promises gamers a fast refresh rate, responsive gameplay, and vibrant colors. A 27-inch model with this technology is expected to hit retail soon. Samsung’s “Seamless Color Studio” exhibit also showcased how OLED panels can provide consistent color accuracy across different devices.
The company has further refined its OLED manufacturing capabilities to enable high-brightness (1,000 nit) OLED panels in smaller sizes, such as 6.7-inch handheld screens. This advancement aims to make OLED technology more accessible and affordable for various applications.
Additionally, Samsung showcased flexible and bezel-less OLEDs in different forms, including a foldable OLED handheld with potential for gaming, a portable briefcase with an 18.1-inch display, and “OLED Tiles” that can be combined to create a single screen.
While some concepts, like the foldable OLED handheld, hold promise, others have raised concerns about design choices, such as awkward input layouts. However, Samsung’s focus on making OLED technology more accessible and affordable is expected to drive innovation in the market.
