Samsung has showcased its latest mobile OLED display panel technology at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. The new display uses On-Cell Film (OCF) OLED, which enhances brightness and energy efficiency.
Key features of this tech include:
* Peak brightness of 5000 nits in a 10% window
* 3000 nits when displaying movie content
* No polarizers for improved visibility in sunlight and lower power use
These panels can be up to 20% thinner than regular OLED panels, making them more durable. Samsung calls this technology “L.E.A.D.” with benefits including low power consumption, eco-friendliness, augmented brightness, and slim design.
The company claims a 1.5 times increase in brightness levels at the same power consumption as previous models. Its goal is to expand OCF technology from foldable devices to bar-type smartphones, offering new design possibilities while maintaining energy efficiency and durability.
