Samsung Unveils Android XR Headset, Project Moohan, at MWC 2025

Samsung has announced that its Android XR headset, Project Moohan, will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, marking a significant step towards more immersive and AI-powered extended reality experiences. The company’s overview of MWC 2025 reveals that Project Moohan will showcase a glimpse into the future of AI-powered extended reality.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2, the headset features advanced XR capabilities and multimodal AI integration. This enables context-aware and personalized experiences that can enhance everyday life in incredibly immersive ways. In December, Samsung announced the Project Moohan developer kit, which was confirmed to be close to the final hardware that will ship to consumers in 2025.

During an early hands-on experience, users reported that the headset is lightweight and has polished hardware. The device also features an external battery, with additional packs available for larger capacities via USB-C connection. Partners received units before the public announcement to test apps, while developers were given access in December.

The upcoming MWC unveil aims to provide the final name, price, and shipping date of Project Moohan, as well as reveal its final specs. Samsung has already announced several other products at MWC 2025, including the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G, along with an exclusive look at the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Project Moohan is just one example of the Android XR initiative, which also includes Google’s Project Astra and a partnership between Google and HTC Vive. The upcoming event promises to bring more insights into the world of AI-powered extended reality.
