Samsung Electronics has announced that the latest public beta of its One UI 7 system will roll out starting November 5, bringing several enhancements to enhance smartphone security.
The new beta preview includes private blockchain-driven “Trust Chain” to monitor connected devices, a security dashboard for at-a-glance stats across multiple Samsung devices, and passkey support via “Credential Sync”. Additionally, Samsung Cloud data recovery enhancements enable secure data transfer between trusted devices, while a new function blocks devices from reconnecting to insecure Wi-Fi networks.
Other notable features include the ability to remove location data from shared photos, preventing automatic downloads of photos in shared albums, blocking USB access when the device is locked, and a new theft protection tool called Identity Check. This biometric verification requirement ensures that sensitive actions require verification when the device is in a different location.
The One UI 7 beta public release is now available for Galaxy S24 users in select regions, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the U.K., and the U.S. Users can apply to join the beta program via Samsung Members.
