Samsung Unveils Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Smartwatch With Enhanced Features

Samsung has released its new Galaxy Watch 8 Classic smartwatch, offering an improved design, enhanced features, and better performance compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. The new watch boasts a unique “squircle” chassis with a circular display and rotating bezel on top.

One of the key features of the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is the addition of an extra physical button, known as the Quick Button, which allows users to quickly launch Samsung Health activities, record laps, start new sessions, end or start workouts, and more. The watch also employs Samsung’s Dynamic Lug system, simplifying wrist strap swapping and contributing to a better fit on the wrist.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is equipped with a 1.34-inch circular Super AMOLED display, which boasts a peak brightness level of 3,000 nits, making it easier to read in direct sunlight compared to the previous model’s 2,000-nit display. The watch also features a newer penta-core Exynos W100 chip, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage.

The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic benefits from Samsung’s BioActive sensor, which provides faster and more accurate health readings. It also features dual-band GPS, providing higher location-tracking accuracy than the previous model’s single-band GPS system.

Samsung’s latest smartwatch runs on the new One UI 8 Watch update, which improves customization and includes additional Samsung Health and fitness tracking features. However, some of these tools may not be available for the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic once it receives the One UI 8 Watch update.

While the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is still available in some markets, including the USA, at a lower price point ($429), we advise against buying the older model due to its outdated hardware and software. If you already own the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and are considering an upgrade, Samsung offers a limited-time $250 discount on the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.

In conclusion, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is a more recent release with enhanced features, better performance, and a unique design compared to its predecessor.
