Samsung is set to release its next major software update, One UI 8, in September. The update, based on Android 16, will be the second of seven major OS upgrades for the Galaxy S24 series.
The beta program for the Galaxy S24 series is scheduled to begin on August 11 and will initially roll out to four countries: India, the US, the UK, and South Korea. However, some mid-range devices are also eligible.
Users who want to participate in the One UI 8 beta need to register through the Samsung Members app. The beta will be rolled out to several flagship phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy S23.
While Samsung hasn’t revealed which models will not receive the update, past precedent suggests that lower-end devices may be left out.
Users can prepare their phones for the One UI 8 beta by taking certain steps, but no exact timeline has been provided for when the first Galaxy S24 beta update becomes available.
