Samsung has confirmed its plans to release a tri-fold smartphone, dubbed the Galaxy Z Trifold, within the next five months. The device is expected to be released in October 2025 and will feature a premium build, with a titanium frame and fast performance thanks to a latest-generation Snapdragon chip.
Unlike other trifold phones on the market, Samsung’s design will fold inwards from both sides, rather than like the MateXT-inspired S/Z-shaped fold. The company also plans to introduce its first XR headset this year, which will be developed jointly with Qualcomm and Google for seamless compatibility across devices.
The device is expected to run on a new AndroidXR operating system, utilizing Gemini as its brain for simple controls, while dedicated controllers will provide precise input for more complex tasks like gaming. With the release of the Galaxy Z Trifold, Samsung is poised to lead the market with innovative form factors and cutting-edge technology.
