Samsung Unveils Thin Galaxy S25 Edge with Flagship Features

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S25 Edge, a thinnest smartphone on the market at 5.8 millimeters and weighing 163 grams. The device starts at $1,099 and goes on sale on May 30.

The launch comes just under four months after Samsung’s annual flagship phone event for the S25 series. This timing suggests that Samsung aims to capitalize on the success of its previous models in a competitive market with rising Chinese players.

Despite facing uncertainty due to global tariff policy, Samsung reported a jump in revenue and profit at its mobile division in the first quarter, largely driven by strong sales of its S25 series. However, experts warn that smartphone demand may decrease in the second quarter due to “seasonality trends.”

To address this concern, Samsung has introduced the S25 Edge, which boasts a 6.7-inch display, dual camera system, and AI features. The phone’s slim design and lower weight are expected to attract customers seeking a flagship experience without the bulk of traditional devices.

Analysts believe that Samsung is trying to get ahead of its rival Apple, which is rumored to launch a thin version of its iPhone 17 Air in the near future. With “thin” being a key selling point for smartphones this year, Samsung’s early move positions it as a leader in this trend.
