Samsung’s latest Android update, One UI 7, has brought several improvements to the homescreen experience. The app drawer now scrolls vertically, matching the design used by other major Android makers. Users can also adjust app icon sizes and create larger folders.
However, one new feature has raised eyebrows – a prominent “Secured by Knox” watermark in the bottom right corner of the app drawer. This watermark cannot be turned off and appears at all times, even on top of app icons. While its purpose is unclear, it’s believed to relate to Knox protections for apps.
The addition of this watermark is a frustrating change that may not serve any practical purpose. Samsung didn’t use this feature in previous versions, making it seem like an unnecessary addition. With this being the first beta build of One UI 7, there’s still time for changes to be made before the final release.
