The Sandra Birchmore case is back in the spotlight, with NBC’s “Dateline” set to air a new episode on Friday that delves into the shocking allegations of police grooming and murder. Birchmore, 23 and pregnant at the time of her death, was initially ruled a suicide, but federal authorities have since claimed one of the accused officers, Matthew Farwell, strangled her to silence her about their sexual relationship. The investigation has also revealed that Farwell had groomed Birchmore from childhood through the Stoughton Police Department’s Explorers Program. Birchmore’s family members and former coworkers will share their stories with “Dateline.”
