SAP has agreed to acquire recruiting software company SmartRecruiters as part of its strategy to improve human resources management tools. The acquisition aims to provide customers with a comprehensive system for managing the candidate lifecycle, from sourcing and interviewing to onboarding and beyond. According to SAP Executive Board Member Muhammad Alam, this will streamline the experience for recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2023, following SmartRecruiters’ recent $110 million Series E funding round, which valued the company at $1.5 billion.
