According to coach Nick Sirianni, Barkley and other regular starters will sit out this game in order to rest and recover. This move was made after consultations with team president Howie Roseman and owner Jeffrey Lurie. With this step back, Barkley has expressed his acceptance of not reaching the record, stating he is “truly at peace with it”.
