Saudi Arabia Condoles with Lebanon After Six Soldiers Killed in Tyre Explosion

Saudi Arabia has extended its condolences to Lebanon after six soldiers were killed and others wounded in an explosion while inspecting a weapons depot in the southern city of Tyre. The Kingdom expressed its solidarity with the Lebanese government and people, praising their efforts to extend the sovereignty of the country and ensure security and stability.

The deaths come as the Lebanese government has decided to disarm Hezbollah and tasked the army with drawing up a plan to complete the process by the end of the year. Under a truce that ended last year’s war between Israel and Hezbollah, Lebanese troops have been deploying in the country’s south and dismantling the group’s infrastructure.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Lebanon and its efforts to maintain stability in the region. Saudi Arabia’s support for the Lebanese government is seen as an attempt to counterbalance Iran’s influence in the area.

Meanwhile, in other news, Saudi Arabia’s melon production has exceeded 63,100 tonnes this summer season, with different types of melons being produced across various regions. The Kingdom’s agricultural sector continues to receive support from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

Additionally, a group of students from Saudi Arabia recently won four medals at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence, held in Beijing. This achievement highlights the country’s growing interest in AI technologies and its potential for innovation and development.

In a separate event, the 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for the Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Qur’an was inaugurated at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. The competition will feature 179 contestants from 128 countries and aims to promote the importance of the Holy Qur’an in Saudi Arabia.
