Hollywood is reviving the Conan the Barbarian franchise with Arnold Schwarzenegger set to reprise his iconic role as sword-wielding hero. Christopher McQuarrie, director of the recent Mission: Impossible films, is attached to write and direct King Conan for 20th Century Studios. The new film will explore a story where Conan, now 40 years old, faces conflict and must return to power after being forced out of his kingdom. This reboot comes after years of development by Universal, which had previously planned an Unforgiven-style story with Chris Morgan as the writer.
