The findings suggest that dark energy could ebb and flow through cosmic time, potentially leading to a more stable universe or even its collapse. This new measurement bolsters an April hint at the standard model of cosmology being flawed and comes from a collaboration using the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument on a telescope in Arizona.
