NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory has released the deepest ever X-ray image of 30 Doradus, a spectacular star-forming region located 160,000 light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The stunning arrangement of stars was captured by combining data from multiple sources, including NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope and the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array.
Scientists have long been fascinated by this region, known as the Tarantula Nebula, due to its brightness and high population of young stars. To better understand star formation, researchers frequently target 30 Doradus for study. The new X-ray image offers a unique glimpse into this phenomenon, providing valuable insights into the birth of stars.
