Astronomers at the University of Arizona are using the newly launched James Webb Space Telescope to study the formation of planets. According to Ilaria Pascucci, a planetary scientist, protoplanetary disks serve as “cradles” for new planet creation. Pascucci recently discussed this topic with Tim Swindle, professor emeritus of Planetary Science at the University of Arizona. The James Webb Space Telescope is providing unprecedented insights into this process, allowing researchers to better understand how planets develop and grow.
