Scottie Scheffler to Miss Maui Tournament Due to Hand Injury

Golf world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will miss The Sentry tournament next month after suffering a puncture wound to his right hand during Christmas preparations. The injury required surgery, and he is expected to take several weeks off.

According to his manager, Blake Smith, the injury occurred on Christmas Day when a broken glass pierced the palm of Scheffler’s right hand. Small glass fragments remained in the palm, necessitating surgical treatment. Scheffler has been advised that he will need three to four weeks to recover and return to full strength.

Scheffler had a remarkable 2024 season, maintaining his world No. 1 ranking throughout the year and winning several major tournaments, including the Olympic gold medal, Players Championship, Masters, and FedExCup title. The injury marks a disappointing start to the new year for the golfer.
