The Archdiocese of Seattle has released a statement honoring the life and legacy of Pope Francis, who passed away recently. According to Rev. Gary Lazzeroni, vicar general for the archdiocese, Pope Francis was known for his kindness, warmth, and commitment to serving those in need.
The archdiocese also acknowledged that despite Catholicism’s relatively small presence in Washington state, with only 14% of residents identifying as Catholic, compared to 19% nationally, Pope Francis’ impact will be felt.
