The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is hosting a series of roundtables to discuss crypto asset regulation. The “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity” series begins with an open public roundtable on March 21, titled “How We Got Here and How We Get Out – Defining Security Status.”
The event will be held at the SEC’s headquarters from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and streamed live on SEC.gov. A recording will be posted later. Attendees can also participate in small group breakout sessions, not broadcast.
Commissioner Hester M. Peirce, leading the Crypto Task Force, stated that she is looking forward to drawing on public expertise in developing a regulatory framework for crypto. The roundtables are an important part of the SEC’s engagement with the public.
The Crypto Task Force was launched by Acting SEC Chairman Mark T. Uyeda on January 21 to draw clear regulatory lines, provide registration paths, and craft sensible disclosure frameworks.
