Segway Unveils Xyber and Xafari E-Bikes with Premium Performance

Segway has unveiled two new electric bikes, the Xyber and Xafari, at CES 2025. The Xyber boasts faster acceleration and a moto-frame design, while the Xafari promises efficiency and comfort. Both e-bikes feature Segway’s Intelligent Ride System, which includes advanced safety features like Airlock security system, Adaptive pedal assist, and real-time health and fitness data syncing.

The $2,999.99 Segway Xyber is powered by a 2,880Wh dual-battery configuration, achieving a range of up to 112 miles on a single battery and 56 miles on the dual battery config. It features 12 levels of pedal-assistance, three throttle-only modes, and hydraulic disk brakes. However, its high-performance capabilities mean it’s classified as an “unclassified e-bike” and cannot be used on public roads or bike paths.

In contrast, the $2,399.99 Segway Xafari has a more classic frame design and a 936Wh battery with an 88-mile range. It boasts a 0-20mph acceleration of 5.2 seconds and features all-terrain tires. Both e-bikes rely on Segway’s Intelligent Ride System for advanced safety features.

Segway is offering both e-bikes for preorder, with the Xyber set to be released in February. The company promises that these new e-bikes have the potential to sit among the best e-bikes available, but their high price and performance capabilities mean they may only be suitable for experienced riders or those looking for premium features.
