Sex and the City Franchise Coming to an End After 25 Years

The “Sex and the City” franchise is ending after more than 25 years, following the conclusion of its third and final season spinoff “And Just Like That….” Star Sarah Jessica Parker and showrunner Michael Patrick King announced the news on Friday.

In a statement posted on the show’s Instagram account, King revealed that he had decided to end the series while writing the last episode. He credited the show’s star, Parker, as well as HBO executives Casey Bloys and Sarah Aubrey, for the decision.

Parker took to social media to bid farewell to her character Carrie Bradshaw, a role she played for 27 years. She praised Parker, praising her work alongside many talented actors and acknowledging that this chapter of the franchise was complete.

The finale will air over two Thursdays, concluding the “Sex and the City” universe’s ongoing storytelling.
