Shark Attack Injures Tourist Trying To Take Photo With Apex Predator

A shark attack occurred off the coast of Turks and Caicos Islands, leaving a tourist injured after trying to take a photo with a 6-foot shark in shallow waters. The incident happened last Friday near Blue Hills, Providenciales.

The victim was airlifted to a hospital for treatment before being transported to a nearby facility for further care. Authorities have confirmed that the beach was reopened on Sunday as the shark had moved into deeper waters.

The Department of Environment & Coastal Resources (DECR) has issued warnings about respecting marine life and following safety guidelines, including swimming in designated areas and avoiding murky waters.
