A crew aboard the Shenzhou-19 spacecraft conducted a series of tests and maintenance work last week, marking an important milestone in their six-month mission. The astronauts, Cai Xuzhe, Song Lingdong, and Wang Haoze, were sent to space on October 30th for their extended stay.
During the test, the crew used a pipe inspection robot to assess its capabilities in a simulated environment. The experiment validated key technologies, including robotic mechanism design and motion control, which will aid in future pipeline inspections at the space station.
The crew also conducted space medicine experiments using EEG equipment and software, gathering data on how gravity affects human vision and movement. They studied bone and muscle density, collecting data on plantar pressure and joint kinematics during running and resistance exercises.
In addition to their scientific research, the astronauts performed routine tasks such as cleaning experimental chambers and performing maintenance on axis mechanisms and electrodes.
The crew’s training also included a system-wide pressure emergency drill, simulating an internal pressure loss in the space station. This exercise strengthened their emergency response skills and enhanced space-to-ground coordination.
Meanwhile, China Media Group (CMG) is gearing up to broadcast the Ninth Asian Winter Games, set to take place in February in Harbin, Heilongjiang province. CMG will serve as the exclusive broadcaster for the Chinese mainland and Macao, providing public signals for the opening and closing ceremonies and competitions. The group aims to bring an immersive experience to viewers through advanced technologies such as 8K ultra-high-definition equipment and artificial intelligence.
