Singer Sheryl Crow has parted ways with her Tesla after sharing an Instagram post expressing her disdain for the company’s CEO, Elon Musk. Crow cited Musk’s involvement in government policies as the reason for her departure.
Musk is leading President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, which focuses on reducing federal spending and has been criticized by Democrats. Critics have filed lawsuits opposing the department’s efforts, with some accusing Musk of aligning himself too closely with Trump’s allies.
Crow took a stance against Tesla by sharing an Instagram video waving goodbye to her black Tesla. In her caption, she stated that “my parents always said… you are who you hang out with,” implying that one must be mindful of the company they associate with. She also announced plans to donate money to NPR, which has faced recent government scrutiny.
NPR’s coverage of a Hunter Biden laptop story and other news topics have drawn criticism from Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and others. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is also investigating NPR and PBS over concerns about commercial airing.
Representatives for Tesla and Crow declined to comment on the matter, but Carr reposted Crow’s video, commenting that she made a valid argument about Congress not forcing taxpayers to subsidize NPR.
