Sheryl Crow Opens Up About Tesla Protest Backlash and Personal Fears

Sheryl Crow has spoken out about the backlash she faced after selling her Tesla in protest of Elon Musk’s actions during his time in the Trump administration. The singer shared a harrowing incident from her past, where an armed intruder encroached on her property, leaving her feeling “very afraid.” Crow contrasted this experience with 1996, when she released her anti-gun song “Love Is a Good Thing,” noting that it felt different back then.

Despite facing criticism for her Tesla protest, Crow stands by her decision to donate the sale money to National Public Radio, which she believes is under threat from President Musk. She explained that she’s fighting for her children and following in her father’s footsteps, who taught her to stand up against injustice when she sees something unfair.

The singer also discussed her latest album, Evolution, which explores themes of empathy, joy, and fear. Crow is set to resume touring behind the album in May and will perform at Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival tour in 2025.
