I have a 24-year-old son with attention issues, ADHD, OCD, and oppositional defiant disorder. We home-schooled him initially but had to move due to his declining behavior in high school. After moving to a junior college, he failed classes and was fired from a job for being too slow. He now lives with us, relying on food stamps and Medicaid, and shows little interest in basic self-care.
I’ve told my son I won’t continue supporting him unless he agrees to get his life together. But how far should I go?
