India beat Pakistan by six wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, with Virat Kohli scoring another century. The match was played at a neutral venue in Dubai due to strained diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Pakistan was bowled out for 242 in their first innings, allowing India to chase down the target in 42.3 overs. Shreyas Iyer responded to a question from a Pakistani journalist by saying he has never played in Pakistan and therefore cannot comment on how it would have affected the victory. However, he expressed that every win against Pakistan is sweet due to the competitive nature of the match and external pressure.
Iyer’s comments come as Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semi-finals are dwindling after a loss to India followed by an earlier defeat to New Zealand. Despite being the host nation, Pakistan faces significant challenges in staying alive in the competition.
