Sigma Introduces Minimalist Full-Frame Camera BF with Built-In SSD

Sigma, the Japanese electronics company, has announced its latest full-frame camera model, the BF. The camera boasts a sleek and minimalist design featuring four button controls and a dial on the back, making it easy to navigate for photographers.

The camera’s body is made from a single block of aluminum, while its user interface has been redesigned with a “completely new information structure” compared to conventional digital cameras. Instead of a memory card slot, the BF features a built-in SSD that provides up to 230GB of storage space for storing approximately 14,000 JPEGs or 4,300 uncompressed RAW files.

The camera’s shooting modes include 13 different color options, allowing photographers to achieve specific looks without post-processing. Additionally, the Sigma BF can capture images at up to eight frames per second and record 6K video at up to 29.97 frames per second.

Pricing for the camera starts at $1,999, with no lens included in the package. The camera is compatible with the L-Mount lens standard developed by Leica. Sigma will also update its I Series prime lenses collection with a new silver color option matching the BF’s design.

The camera’s release date has not been announced yet, but it is expected to ship sometime in April 2025.
