SilverStone’s Retro-Style FLP02 Case Hits the Market

SilverStone has launched its latest ’80s throwback PC case, the FLP02, at Computex this week. Originally conceived as an April Fools’ joke, the original FLP01 was a surprise hit, prompting the company to create another retro-styled case.

The FLP02’s design is reminiscent of cases from the 486 and early Pentium eras, featuring a turbo button on the front that controls fan speed instead of processor speed. The case also boasts a magnetic door for USB ports and faux-5.25-inch floppy drives covering drive bays.

Despite its retro aesthetic, the FLP02 is capable of housing modern PC parts, including full-size ATX motherboards, 360 mm radiators, and high-end GPUs like the GeForce RTX 5090 or 5080.

Priced at $220 for US buyers, the FLP02 will ship in Q3 or Q4 this year. While it may not be the most affordable option, its nostalgic appeal has likely contributed to its creation, suggesting that retro-style cases remain a lucrative market for companies like SilverStone.
