Electronic Arts (EA) has re-released The Sims and The Sims 2 as part of the series’ 25th birthday celebration, making the classic life sim games available on modern platforms. The Legacy Collection versions come with most expansion packs and a few enhancements for modern systems, but not full remakes or remasters.
PC players can now purchase and play the original games without searching for physical copies or going through hoops to get them digitally. The Sims is credited as the origin of the life game genre, while The Sims 2 expanded on this with more detail and numerous add-ons.
The Sims Legacy Collection is available as a $40 bundle or individually and has already brought joy to many players. However, some fans are disappointed that there are few actual improvements and bug fixes made to the games. Despite this, EA’s efforts in getting these classic games to work on Windows 10 and 11 systems should be recognized.
The collection comes with a substantial list of expansions for The Sims Legacy Collection features numerous add-ons, including University, Nightlife, and Seasons. For those looking to play with cheats, guides are available.
