Singer-Songwriter Angie Stone Dies in Car Crash at 63

Beloved singer-songwriter Angie Stone has died in a car crash at the age of 63. The accident occurred early Saturday morning while she was traveling from a performance in Montgomery, Alabama to another engagement in Baltimore.

Stone was one of nine people on board a van that crashed on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County. She was the only fatality, according to her representative Deborah R. Champagne.

The singer rose to fame as a member of the iconic all-female hip hop group The Sequence, which released three albums between 1979 and 1985. Her solo career took off in the late 1990s, with hits like “Black Diamond” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You.” Stone also appeared in several films, including “The Hot Chick” and “Ride Along.”

Stone’s death has left her friends, family, and fans devastated. She is survived by her son Michael, daughter Diamond, and two grandchildren.

Authorities have confirmed the crash but no further information has been released at this time.
