Siri Bug Enables Data Theft on Locked Apple Devices
Apple has released updates for its products to fix recent vulnerabilities found in Siri, the digital assistant. These bugs could allow attackers to steal information from a locked device.
When a device is locked, voice commands can still be processed by Siri, which may give access to contacts and sensitive data. However, Apple has restricted these options to prevent malicious actors from exploiting this vulnerability, even if they have physical access to the device.
The vulnerabilities were patched on iPhone, Apple Watch, iOS, iPadOS, and macOS Ventura. To mitigate these bugs, users should update their devices to the latest software version (iOS 17.6 or iPadOS 17.6) by going to Settings, General, and then Software Update.
