While fiber plays a crucial role, these foods contain naturally occurring cancer-fighting bacteria and antioxidants.
Eating a daily portion of yoghurt can reduce bowel cancer risk by up to 20%. This dairy favorite contains beneficial bacteria that support digestion and have anti-cancer properties. Adding nuts like almonds or walnuts to your breakfast can also lower the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and bowel cancer.
An apple a day can keep the doctor away, with one serving potentially slashing colorectal cancer risk by 47%. Kiwis are even more powerful, providing over 80% of an adult’s daily vitamin C needs. Fruits like apples and kiwis are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals that help neutralize free radicals.
Avocados, tomatoes, and guacamole can also benefit digestive health.
