Six Planets Visible in the Evening Sky This Month

Catch four planets — Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars — in the evening sky with good binoculars. With ease, Uranus and Neptune become visible as well, while Comet ATLAS may survive its close approach to the Sun. The bright Venus shines near its greatest elongation from the Sun, making it easy to spot before sunset. Meanwhile, Mercury remains hidden behind the Sun’s glare. In late February, Mercury will reappear in the evening sky, and a total of seven planets will be visible, strung across about 119° of sky.
