Skies Reach Deadliest Year Since 2018 Amid Two Plane Crashes

Commercial aviation has seen its deadliest year since 2018 following two recent accidents. The Jeju Air crash in South Korea and last week’s downing of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane have contributed to the tragic increase in fatalities onboard passenger aircraft, reaching a record high of 318 this year according to data compiled by Cirium. This marks a significant rise from the 500 deaths recorded in 2018, which was marked by the first two Boeing Co. 737 Max crashes.
