Skydance Media has confirmed its senior leadership team ahead of its merger with Paramount Global. The company has announced 10 executives who will form the top table under executive leader David Ellison, who will become CEO and chairman of Paramount once the deal closes.
The new team includes Don Granger, President of Motion Picture Group; Kevin MacLellan, President of International and Global Content Distribution; Rebecca Mall, President of Cross Company Initiatives, Franchise, and Corporate Marketing; Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios; Kevin Creighton, EVP of Corporate Finance & Investor Relations; Tony Driscoll, EVP of Head of Corporate Strategy & Development; Efrain Miron, EVP of Head of Content Strategy & Licensing, DTC; Jose Turkienicz, EVP of Head of Global Operations; Laura Watson, EVP of Corporate and Executive Communications; and Jane Wiseman, EVP of Head of Originals, DTC.
The leadership team will oversee three business segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer and TV Media. Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein will oversee studios as Co-Chairs of Paramount Pictures, while George Cheeks will lead TV Media and Cindy Holland will head Direct-to-Consumer.
Ellison expressed confidence in the new team’s ability to propel the company’s vision and reignite a shared sense of purpose and ambition throughout their teams. The announcement comes amid criticism from some quarters that Skydance/CBS news source hire was a misstep, with many calling for greater diversity and representation within the industry.
MacLellan returns to the TV business after previously working at NBCUniversal, while Mall oversees marketing campaigns and franchises. Creighton will lead corporate finance and treasury, having worked at StubHub and Netflix. Driscoll leads corporate strategy and development, having held executive roles at Epic Games, Warner Bros., AT&T, and Disney.
The team’s diversity is a subject of interest, with many observers questioning why there are no African-American executives on the list. However, Ellison remains confident in the team’s ability to drive the company forward.
