A Las Cruces-based beauty cosmetics company, Prados Beauty, will be showcased in a Google advertisement during the upcoming Super Bowl. The local business represents New Mexico as part of Google’s “50 Stories, 50 States” campaign, highlighting small businesses adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to grow their ventures.
Founder and CEO Cece Meadows said she was surprised when Google announced her company would feature in the ad. Initially, they had planned to showcase Prados Beauty on a short film about New Mexico for the program. However, Meadows discovered it was an advertisement for the Super Bowl.
Meadows works with the Google for Small Business program, learning tools to promote small business growth and mentor local business owners. She uses this knowledge to help her community thrive, particularly women of color.
Prados Beauty’s unique cosmetic line caters to Chicana and indigenous culture, recognized by Allure Best of Beauty in 2022. Meadows created the line to be inclusive of darker skin tones and collaborate with native artists.
The company has seen significant growth since launching in 2019, selling products at 609 JCPenney locations, online, and at boutiques across the country. Meadows credits her community’s support for Prados Beauty’s success.
