Small Space Stocks to Watch for Moon Success in 2025

NASA’s high-profile Project Artemis is boosting revenues for small space companies like Firefly Aerospace, ispace Japan, Intuitive Machines, and Astrobotic. As these companies launch their lunar landers and missions, they may soon become the focus of investors and the media.

Firefly Aerospace, a privately held company, recently launched its Blue Ghost lunar lander on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The lander will spend 45 days traveling to the moon, arriving in March 2025. Firefly’s mission aims to demonstrate its capabilities for future lunar missions.

Inspace Japan’s Resilience lunar lander is scheduled to arrive at the moon in May 2025, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to develop a reliable lunar landing system. Intuitive Machines, which has already successfully landed on the moon in 2024, will launch its Athena lander with a payload of around 100-130 kg.

Astrobotic’s Griffin lander, weighing over six tons, is set to be launched by SpaceX Falcon Heavy in 2025. Although it’s too large for a Falcon 9 to launch, the Griffin mission aims to demonstrate the company’s capabilities and provide valuable data for future crewed missions.

These small space companies are poised to play a crucial role in NASA’s Artemis program, paving the way for potential crewed missions to the moon. With several successful launches planned for 2025, investors should keep an eye on these companies as they potentially become publicly traded stocks and gain recognition as leaders in the lunar exploration industry.
