SNL Cast Member Emil Wakim Leaves the Show

Comedian Emil Wakim, who joined NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL) ahead of Season 50, is exiting the show. His departure comes just weeks after fellow cast member Devon Walker revealed his own exit from the program.

Wakim, a Lebanese-American comedian, made his late-night TV debut in 2022 on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and has since opened for notable comedians like Roy Wood Jr., Nikki Glaser, and Hasan Minhaj. He was selected as a New Face of Comedy at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival that same year.

In an emotional Instagram post, Wakim expressed his gratitude to SNL boss Lorne Michaels for taking a chance on him and changing his life. The comedian also stated that he will miss the show dearly and is excited for the next chapter in his career.

Wakim’s exit marks one of the most significant losses for the current season, with sources indicating that he had limited screen time compared to fellow cast members Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline. Despite the controversy surrounding his departure, fans have taken to social media to wish Wakim well on his future endeavors.
