SNL Host Morgan Wallen Sparks Meme War with Josh Patten

Country music star Morgan Wallen sparked humor and controversy on Saturday Night Live (SNL) when he abruptly left the stage during a performance, leaving host Mikey Madison wondering what happened. Wallen’s exit was followed by an Instagram post featuring a private jet, with the caption “Get me to God’s country.”

Comedian Josh Patten, a writer for SNL, took aim at Wallen’s post in his own Instagram stories, posting a photo of a Krispy Kreme truck with the same caption. After some media outlets made fun of Patten, he responded by sharing his Apple Music playlist from 2023, which included several of Wallen’s songs.

Wallen’s SNL appearance marked his second time on the show and his first since a controversy surrounding a video of him using the N-word. He had apologized for the incident but faced backlash from radio stations and awards shows. Despite this, he remains one of country music’s most successful artists.

Wallen’s upcoming album, I’m the Problem, is set to be released on May 16. The release date comes after a tumultuous few months for the singer, who has struggled to regain momentum since his SNL appearance.
