During the episode, a camera captured Johansson’s reactions in the hallway outside the studio as Jost was forced to read outlandish jokes about her. The segment began with Jost saying he’d “read all the jokes in ‘Black voice’ so I don’t get in trouble.” He then proceeded to read a joke about Kamala Harris supporting slavery reparations, followed by a joke that sparked widespread laughter – and Johansson’s horror.
The final joke, about Johansson’s age and fertility, left even Jost struggling to maintain a straight face. The segment culminated with a Photoshopped image of the couple holding a Black baby, further humiliating Jost on live television.
