SoCal Gas Prices Hit Record Highs as Nation Sees Decline

The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased to $4.776, its highest amount since July 9, according to AAA and Oil Price Information Service figures. Over the last 22 days, prices have risen 21 times.

Compared to previous periods, LA County gas prices are up 12.9 cents from one week ago and 30 cents more than a month ago. However, they remain 3 cents lower than one year ago.

Orange County average prices also rose four-tenths of a cent to $4.754, its highest amount since June 11, for the 20th consecutive day of increases. National gas prices declined two-tenths of a cent to $3.158.
