SoCal Man Wins $515 Million Powerball Jackpot

A Southern Californian has become a millionaire after winning the top prize in a $515 million Powerball jackpot. The winning ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven store in Anaheim, California. To win, the ticket holder matched all five numbers: 7, 11, 21, 53, and 61, as well as the Powerball of 2.

A second winner will take home $279,863 after matching five numbers but not the Powerball. The 7-Eleven store that sold the winning ticket will receive a bonus of $1 million.

This is the 29th consecutive draw since Fernando Cervantes, Jr., won a $328.5 million jackpot in Oregon earlier this year. The next Powerball drawing will take place on March 31 and the top prize will reset to $20 million.

The California Lottery uses the funds from ticket sales to support public schools across the state. Tickets cost $2 per play, with drawings taking place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday night at 7:59 p.m.
