SoftBank Invests $3 Billion in OpenAI’s Enterprise AI Partnership

SoftBank Group has announced a major investment into OpenAI’s Advanced Enterprise AI called Cristal intelligence. The partnership will see SoftBank spend $3 billion annually to deploy OpenAI’s solutions across its group companies, making it the first company in the world to integrate Cristal intelligence at scale.

The deal also includes the establishment of a joint venture (JV) company called SB OpenAI Japan, which will market Cristal intelligence exclusively to major Japanese companies. This JV is 50:50 owned by OpenAI and SoftBank Group Corp.

SoftBank Group aims to accelerate its AI adoption and development through this partnership. Its Arm subsidiary will utilize Cristal intelligence to drive innovation and boost productivity. The company believes that the partnership will enable it to transform its business practices and create new value within its group companies.
